These sessions are designed to help you feel more confident in recognising the signs that someone may be struggling, and knowing how to respond in a calm, supportive way.

Both programs are available to any residents of the Gold Coast.

Online: Recognise and Respond

Format: 1-hour self-paced online course

  • How to recognise the signs someone may be at risk
  • How to respond in a safe, supportive way
  • How to care for yourself while supporting others

In-person training: safeTALK

Format: 4-hour in-person workshop

Access: Expression of interest required

  • How to reach out to someone thinking about suicide
  • How to help them keep safe by connecting them to support
  • Practical skills and simple conversation models
